Memberships

Owning shares in KmikeyM is free. Trading them is a membership. That single distinction is the thing most new shareholders run into, usually phrased as some version of “I bought in, so why can’t I find anywhere to sell?”

The short answer: holding shares and voting cost nothing, but the trading platform, the part where you place sell offers and move in the market, is a paid feature. If you can’t find where to sell, you are almost certainly on the free Shareholder tier, which does not include platform access or a cash balance to receive proceeds.

Shares and membership are two different things

A share is ownership: you bought a piece of the project, you can hold it indefinitely, and you can vote it. A membership is a set of trading capabilities layered on top. As the membership page puts it, “Subscriptions don’t buy you shares, they buy you power-ups. Shares are separate, but your membership makes playing the market faster, cheaper, and more fun.”

So you can be a shareholder with no membership at all. You will own real shares and your vote will count. What you will not have, until you upgrade, is the ability to actively trade them.

The four tiers

TierPrice / yearWhat it unlocks
Shareholder$0Buy shares, vote. No cash balance.
Trader 🔰$25Everything above, plus full access to the trading platform, the ability to make deposits and carry a balance, and reduced fees.
Pro Trader ✳️$60Everything in Trader, plus the lowest fees, a no-fee manual deposit option, and eligibility for dividends.
Board Member ⚜️Not publicly listedA two-year seat on the board, private votes, and a private Discord channel. Only six seats exist.

Shareholder is the default and free forever. It is enough to own a stake and participate in governance, which for many holders is the entire point.

Trader is the tier that turns a holding into a position you can manage. Full trading-platform access means you can post sell offers as well as buy; a carried balance means there is somewhere for the proceeds of a sale to land.

Pro Trader is built for the most active participants, the people effectively acting as market makers. It strips fees down to the payment processor’s cut and adds dividend eligibility (which the project notes depends on future implementation).

Board Member is a different kind of tier. It is the inner circle: a fixed-term governance seat with private deliberation, capped at six people, rather than a trading upgrade you simply subscribe to.

”Why can’t I find where to sell a share?”

This is the most common version of the membership question, so it is worth answering directly.

You cannot sell from the free Shareholder tier. Selling happens on the trading platform, and platform access begins at the Trader tier ($25/year). There is also a mechanical reason underneath the rule: the Shareholder tier carries no cash balance, so even if a sale went through, there would be no account for the money to settle into. Upgrading to Trader gives you both the platform and the balance, and your existing shares come with you.

Processing fees

The clearest practical reason to move up a tier is fees. Every tier pays the payment processor’s standard charge; what changes is the platform’s own processing fee on top of it.

TierProcessing fee
Shareholder (Free)6% + Stripe fee
Trader3% + Stripe fee
Pro / BoardStripe fee only

For anyone trading with any regularity, the fee reduction is the part of the upgrade that pays for itself.
