2026-09-23: Cutting the talk to fit, two days before Kosovo
- The talk ran 35 minutes on its first full pass yesterday. The slot is 30, and the talk has no ending yet. Today is the cut and the ending.
- Three of your votes carry the talk: crypto, the vasectomy, the ghosts. The part about the platforms that failed is the weakest, so the cutting starts there.
- Getting Matchbook, the Discord bot, running on a home server so it keeps working while I’m away.
- Pre-flight errands: bills, beds in Prishtina, someone at the house to watch the mail. I fly Friday evening.
Yesterday:
- Said the whole talk out loud for the first time, a day ahead of plan. It ran five minutes long.
- Posted a poker puzzle to the players list, seven-deuce in the cutoff. Seven people have played it so far.
2026-09-17: The promo video, and an audience for Saturday
- Recording the promotional video for the Kosovo talk today. Thirty seconds, vertical, shot on a phone. It is owed Saturday, the talk is October 2, and a video meant to fill a room is worth less every day it waits.
- Asking someone to sit in the room for Saturday’s dress rehearsal. An audience asked on the day is an audience that says no, so the ask happens now.
- The first full run out loud moved again, to Friday. That is the third time. I have been rewriting the talk rather than delivering it.
- Back in Oakland after a week in Los Angeles. Gym, then operations work this afternoon.

- Wrote up a question about the reporting calendar. The dates do not move. What I am weighing is whether reporting the numbers as scheduled disclosure undersells them, and whether the same dates could carry a release instead.
